Lion's breath, Botswana
As we huddled around the campfire, clutching our morning coffees in the dark and below freezing air, we could hear the repeated roar of a lion. Our guide said that he thought that he’d be able to locate the lion if we wanted to abandon our coffees and jump in the safari truck...we didn’t have to be asked twice. Five minutes later, this was the scene that greeted us. The sun was just coming up over the horizon and the lion’s breath was caught in the frosty air as he roared for his family. We could hear his family reply and so this scene only lasted about thirty seconds as the lion set off to find them.
